First contract Power for Oman Control systems upgrade
Dentons UKMEA LLP and Dentons Europe LLP have advised Total on the signing of a 20-year development and production service contract with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) for the development of phase 11 of South Pars, the world’s largest natural gas field. The contract has been agreed within the framework of principles set out in the Iranian Petroleum Contract recently approved by the Iranian government and is the first such contract to be signed since sanctions against Iran were relaxed in 2016.
Power for Oman
AEG Power Solutions has been selected to provide AC and DC UPS to secure the power supply for a Polyethylene plant (HDPE/LLDPE) and a Polypropylene plant (PP) owned by Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company SAOC – Orpic.
One of the primary EPC contractors for this petrochemical complex in Oman is Tecnimont S.p.A., the main subsidiary of Maire Tecnimont Group, headquartered in Milan. Tecnimont selected a combination of AEG Power Solutions’ Protect 8 UPS and Protect RCS rectifier (specified as TPRe three-phase rectifier model) which have proven track records in securing power for critical industrial applications, as well as customised by-pass panels, Ni-Cd batteries and moulded case circuit breaker (MCCB) boxes for battery protection.
Control systems upgrade
Actemium has been awarded an EPC contract by Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Limited (GASCO) for the upgrade of the control systems at the company’s Asab-1 plant. The scope of the project comprises the upgrade of the Siemens Distributed Control System (DCS), the replacement of the Emergency Shutdown (ESD), the Fire & Gas System (FGS), the Burner Management System (BMS), the turbines & compressor controls, as well as the expansion and modification of several Instrument & Electrical Shelters (IES), including HVAC and fittings.
