Vital boost
The UK’s green gas industry has described the restoring of higher tariff levels for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) as a ‘vital boost’ to the UK’s ability to produce renewable green gas for heating homes and businesses through anaerobic digestion (AD).

Charlotte Morton, Chief Executive of the Anaerobic Digestion & Bioresources Association (ADBA), said: “Green gas produced through AD not only produces much lower levels of emissions than natural gas but is also home-grown, allowing the UK to increase its energy security and be less reliant on energy imports from abroad. AD is already reducing gas imports by 2% and has the potential to reduce them by as much as 16%.

“It’s imperative that the government commits to long-term support for green gas beyond 2020 while the industry works to bring down costs to become financially self-sufficient.”

Cloud-based software
Norfolk-based software company Softrader has released its first fully browser based ERP system designed for suppliers of industrial equipment to the oil and gas and related industries. Softrader Cloud handles all the major tasks in a company’s workflow from enquiry to invoicing; including enquiry and order entry, purchasing, stock control, document creation and storage and so on.

Says Softrader managing director Jono Slack: “One of the biggest advantages of these systems is that all data is hosted in the cloud, not only is it easily accessible securely from any computer or mobile device with an internet connection. IT costs can be kept to a minimum with no need for in-house servers.”
