Hempel extends production uptime with launch of new linings range

Following the successful launch in the Middle East and Southeast Asia of Hempaline Defend epoxy linings, global coatings company Hempel is now able to offer the lining range to its European customers.

Aimed specifically at the power and oil & gas industries, Hempaline Defend epoxy range of linings have been developed to protect steel and concrete tanks in challenging and highly corrosive environments, where maximising production uptime is critical.

This range protects both steel and concrete from aggressive chemicals, elevated temperatures and abrasive service conditions. With a choice of hardeners available, customers are able to select a single-coat system that allows the asset to be returned to service in as little as 24 hours without any reduction in performance.

Pernille Lind Olsen, Hempel Group Product & Portfolio Director, commented:
“At Hempel, we understand that in the power and oil & gas industries, equipment downtime
can mean a loss of revenue. Our Hempaline Defend epoxy range offers customers a simple
choice for heavy duty protection of valuable equipment in aggressive environments. This reduces
the time an asset is taken offline for maintenance.”

The range offers:

  • Excellent protection for storage and process vessels against high temperatures and aggressive cargos
  • High-build single-coat system that allows a vessel to be returned to service in as little as 24 hours
  • 100 per cent solids for a VOC-free and low-odour solution
  • Option of glass flake-reinforced products for tank bottoms

Later in the year, Hempel will launch its Hempaline Defend vinyl ester linings range, which is designed specifically for challenging applications such as acidic environments, neutralisation areas and sumps.
